After losing 1-0 to Chad away from home, Egypt's national football team arrived in Cairo this morning and headed to Alexandria to start preperations for the second leg tie at Borg El-Arab Stadium Tuesday.

Egypt face the possibility of being eliminated from the World Cup qualifiers in a preliminary round after a woeful show saw them slump to a stunning 1-0 defeat by minnows Chad in N'Djamena Saturday.

The Pharaohs' coach, Hector Cuper, decided not to take any break and to start a quick preparatory camp in Alexandria for the second leg as the national team still has a good chance to advance to the group stage when they host Chad Tuesday.

Egypt is expected to be under pressure from home fans, given their long history of World Cup qualifying failures.

Egypt is confirmed to lose the services of Zamalek midfielder Ahmed Dwidar who sustained a muscle injury during the Chad game, while striker Bassem Morsi is in major doubt for the game after receiving a hard knock to the ankle during the 1-0 first-leg defeat in N'Djamena.

"I suffered a muscle injury and won't be available for the second leg," Dwidar told reporters after the game.

The winner from the second leg will advance to a five four-team group stage.
