Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi is heading a national security meeting on Monday, a presidential statement read.
An informed source told Ahram Arabic website that the meeting will discuss current domestic and international security threats.
The meeting comes in the wake of a series of attacks in the French capital Paris on Friday that led to the death of at least 129 people. The ISIS militant group claimed responsibility for the attacks.
During the meeting, the president will receive the latest details on the investigation into the Russian Airliner's crash over the Egyptian territories on 31 October that resulted in the death of all 224 on board.
The president will also receive a report on the possible impact that the suspension of flights to Egypt will have on the country’s vital tourism industry.
Updates on the Ethiopian dam situation will also be provided to El-Sisi.
Egypt has repeatedly expressed concerns that Ethiopia's $4.2 billion dam, whose construction is said to be at least 40 percent complete and is set to finish in 2017, would negatively affect its Nile water share.
A tripartite committee consisting of Egyptian, Ethiopian, and Sudanese representatives has been formed to study the possible effects, if any, of the Ethiopian dam on Egypt and Sudan.
