Egyptian navy and air forces have left for Greece to participate in the joint Egyptian-Greek air military exercise Meidoza 2015, which will last for several days, state news agency MENA reported on Monday.
MENA added that the exercise will include the implementation of several activities such as managing aerial combat and maritime interdiction as well as combating all acts of smuggling, sea piracy and illegal migration.
In May, Greece’s Hellenic air force units performed in Egypt for the military exercise Horus 2015, where Egyptian, Greek and Cyprus naval forces conducted a joint practice drill in the Mediterranean.
In April, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi visited Cyprus where he held a summit meeting with the leaders of Cyprus and Greece, agreeing to step up the fight against terrorism in the area.
