BREAKING: US markets plunge in the first session after the downgrade

The US stock indexes are already taking a hit following Friday's downgrade of the US credit rating.

Nasdaq has opened down more than 3 per cent while Dow and S&P are down over 2 per cent apiece after less than 15 minutes of trading.
