Starting 31 January, the Zamalek Art Gallery will display An Introduction to Voidness, a new exhibition by Egyptian sculptor Nathan Doss.

In Zamalek Art Gallery's press release, Egyptian painter, sculptor, printmaker, and art critic Mostafa El-Razaz commented: "In my view, not only is Doss a talented sculptor, but he is also driven by confidence and ambition.

"In fact, he has succeeded in developing his own unique style, one that is all the more precious and rare because it cannot be attributed to the influence of any of the established masters of this art form. Doss’s skill and technical mastery reflect positively on his works, especially in demonstrating freedom of form without sacrificing any of the meticulous details involved in transforming the wax model into a finished bronze piece," he writes.

Born in Mallawy in 1971, Doss obtained his bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Education in 1993. Since his graduation Doss has participated in many exhibitions, both public and private.

"Doss' work is original, innovative and unique," reads the press release. He has won several awards, including the Rateb Seddik Award, the Small pieces Salon Prize, and the prize of the Fourteenth Youth Salon.

Programme:
31 January - 29 February
Zamalek Art Gallery, 11 Brazil Street, Zamalek, Cairo
