Algeria beat Morocco in the Handball African Cup of Nations (the tournament's official website)
Algeria claimed their second straight victory in the Nations Cup after beating North African rivals Morocco 27-22 on Saturday.
Algeria recovered from an opening defeat by hosts Egypt to register two consecutive wins over Gabon and Morocco.
They went to the dressing room with a 15-10 lead over Morocco before maintaining their dominance in the second period.
The win put Algeria in third place in Group A with four points, on level with second-placed Morocco.
Earlier in the day, Nigeria beat Gabon 31-30 in an exciting affair. Nigeria lie fifth with two points from two defeats and a solitary win in three matches. Gabon are at the bottom with no points.
The first four teams in the group will advance to the quarter finals.
