Former Chelsea and France winger Florent Malouda has joined Wadi Degla on a six-month deal, the club announced on their official Facebook page on Friday.
Degla, who made their top flight debut in the 2009-2010 season, announced a few days ago that they were in line to sign a world-class attacker.
And as it turned out, the 35-year-old Malouda was the high-profile forward to join the side, coming from Indian Super League side Delhi Dynamos – who are managed by Brazil legend Roberto Carlos.
During a five-year stint at Chelsea, Malouda helped the Londoners win the English Premier League, Champions League and three FA Cup titles between 2007 and 2013.
Before sealing his move to the Blues, Malouda won four league titles during a four-year spell at Lyon.
He then joined Turkey's Trabzonspor before leaving for French side Metz in 2014, where he spent a year before heading towards India.
Malouda would be the third foreign player in Degla’s squad, joining Nigerian forward Stanley Ohawuchi and Junior Mapuku of Congo at the Cairo club.
