Zamalek's president Mortada Mansour says he isn't considering firing the team's technical staff headed by Ahmed "Mido" Hossam, insisting the coach has the board's full support.

Mido tasted his first loss in charge of Zamalek when his former club Ismaily inflicted a 1-0 defeat on the Egyptian Premier League holders last Wednesday, giving them a reality check ahead of Tuesday's Cairo derby against archrivals Ahly.

"I didn't think to change the technical staff. I offer them full support," Mansour said Friday night in a meeting with players and coaching staff.

"They secured four successive wins and they are able to return to winning ways, especially as it is too early to speak about the season's end," he added.

Zamalek won four games in a row after Mido took over for a second spell early in January. But he was criticised for a series of uninspiring displays, despite the abundance of attacking talents at his disposal.

Mido is Zamalek's third coach this season, with Portuguese Jesualdo Ferreira, who led the team to the domestic double last season, leaving in an acrimonious manner last November and his successor, Marcos Paqueta of Brazil, being shown the door at the beginning of the year.

Ahly sit on top of the league table with 35 points, four ahead of champions Zamalek after 15 matches.
