Celebrating Nile Day on 22 February, the Benha Puppetry Troupe presents 'Nile Day: Voices and Stories,' a series of performances that look into the relationship of people with their environment, and reflect on the effect of climate change in the Nile Delta region.

The short performances will range from monologues to shadow puppetry, and will portray various stories of the people living in the Delta who are affected by climate change in an effort to use art as a channel for dialogue and social change.

The evening is held in collaboration with 350 Egypt NGOs.

Benha Puppetry Troupe includes members Amira Elmallah, Houssam Saeed, Mohanad Elsangary, and is directed by Nini Ayach, with artistic director Hany Hommos.

The troupe recently held performances in Fayoum and Cairo at Room Art Space, Darb 1718 and the Jesuit Nahda Centre, and will hold several shows in Alexandria this month.

Programme:
8pm (Doors open at 7), Monday 22 February
Falaki Theatre, AUC Tahrir Square Campus, 24 Falaki Street, Downtown, Cairo
