Programme: Film tribute to Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman in Cairo

A five-day event titled 'Journey with a star' will pay tribute to the late renowned Swedish actress with film screenings, most free of charge

Between 23 and 27 February, the Cairo art-house cinema Zawya will screen iconic films starring the late internationally-renowned Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman.

 
The journey through the films will open on 23 February with a closed screening of In Her Own Words, the Swedish documentary about the actress that was released in 2015, a year marking Bergman's birth centenary.
 
In Her Own Words premiered at the 68th Cannes Film Festival in the classics section.
 
The tribute to Bergman is a result of cooperation between Zawya, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Embassy of Sweden.
 
Films are in Swedish, English and Italian, with English subtitles.

All events take place at 7:30pm
