A Man Returned by Mahdi Fleifel, a 30 minutes film tackling refugees issue won a Silver Bear Jury Award at Berlinale 2016

Upon receiving the award, director Fleifel commented: "They ask me why I'm making movies about refugees. I am a refugee myself. I was nine when my parents fled from the Middle East and moved to Europe. But that was a long time ago."

He continued underlining that he is in a priviledged position and today, he considers himself European. He also thanked his cinema professors for all knowledge that they passed to him.

Accoding to Berlinale website, A Man Returned talks about 26 year old Reda who "for the past three years has been living in Athens, hand-to-mouth and on petty crimes. He wanted to be recognised as a refugee in Europe. It didn’t work. Now he’s back at the place he originally fled from, Ain El-Helweh, the largest refugee camp in Lebanon. He is intent on creating a better life himself."
