Zamalek set date for upcoming African Champions league clash

The Egyptian champions have set a date and venue for their upcoming African Champions league match against MO Bejaia

Zamalek have settled on 9 April as the date for the first leg of their African Champions League round of 16 clash against Algerian side MO Bejaia.

"The technical staff has decided to play the first leg against MO Bejaia on 9 April at Petro Sport stadium in Cairo," the club said in a statement via its official website on Wednesday.

The return leg will be played in Algeria a week later.

The Whites made it to round 16, defeating Cameroon's Union Douala 2-0 at home on Saturday (3-0 on aggregate), while MO Bejaia qualified after beating Tunisia's Club Africain.

Ahly, Zamalek's archrivals, will be also participating in the same round of the prestigious tournament.

Zamalek, title holders of the Egyptian Premier League and Egypt Cup, are currently second in the Premier League table with 41 points, six behind Ahly.
