The Egypt Cabinet has approved the creation of a judicial committee, as proposed by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces. The committee is to start negotiations with Switzerland over a deal to restore Egypt’s frozen assets, in accordance with Swiss law.
The Swiss Parliament issued a law in 2010 which allows the refunding of illegal assets. The law has been in effect since February 2011.
