Egyptian outfit ENPPI decided to fire head coach Hamada Sedky early Saturday after Friday's 2-0 Premier League loss to Cairo giants Ahly.

"The board thanks Sedky for his efforts with the team. [Assistant coach] Khaled Metwaly will be the new manager with the same technical staff," the petroleum club announced in a statement via its official Facebook page.

Earlier on January, former Ahly defender Sedky took charge at ENPPI after the resignation of Hany Ramzy following a string of poor results.

ENPPI lie at the 12th place in the Egyptian league table with 28 points from 23 matches, 25 behind leaders Ahly.

ENPPI are also facing defeat on the continental level after their recent loss to hosts Mounana of Gabon in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup Round 16. The return match will be played in Egypt 20 April.
