Ahly's attacking midfielder Moemen Zakareya believes overcoming Tanzania's Young Africans in the Champions League last-16 is the first step towards helping Ahly win a record-extending ninth title.

Following a 1-1 first-leg draw in Dar-es-Salaam last week, Ahly will be looking to capitalize on their vital away goal when they host Young Africans at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium on Wednesday.

"Our ambitions are big; we aspire for the Champions League title, and getting past Young Africans is only the first step," Zakareya told Ahly's official website.

"The meeting with Young Africans will not be easy at all, they will surely fight to reach the competition's group stage.

"Therefore we should be cautious in order to secure qualification; the players and management are all up to the occasion."

Record eight-time African champions Ahly won the last of their titles in 2013.
