The Egyptian Modern Dance Theatre Company is set to present a dance performance titled ‘Deeper than it looks on a Surface’ at Gomhoria Theatre on 2, 3 and 4 June.
Choreographed and directed by Monadel Antar, the performance is inspired by the French social psychologist Gustav Le Bon’s book The Psychology of Crowds.
The Egyptian Modern Dance Theatre Company was founded in 1993 under the Ministry of Culture and the Cairo Opera House with Walid Aouni as its artistic director and choreographer before the post was passed on to Monadel Antar in recent years.
Since its inception, the company has given over 30 performances in Egypt and toured internationally.
Programme:
2, 3 and 4 June, 8pm
Gomhoria Theatre, 6 El-Gomhoria Street, Abdeen, Cairo
