Barcelona footballing legend Carles Puyol visits Giza pyramids, new museum

The Spanish football player was given a tour of the not-yet-open Grand Egyptian Museum

Former Barcelona football club captain and Spanish international Carles Puyol visited the Giza pyramids and the as-yet-unopened Grand Egyptian Museum on Friday.

Guided by Tarek Tewfik, the museum's supervisor, the former European and world champion was shown the state-of-the-art laboratory at the museum and told about the details of its coming collections. Tewfik told Ahram Online that Puyol expressed his desire to attend the museum's upcoming official opening. 

Puyol also visited the Giza pyramids.
