An international coalition announced Wednesday that it had conducted 18 air strikes near the town of Manjib in northern Syria, in a new front against the Islamic State group.

The strikes hit an IS headquarters, communication towers, six tactical units and eight IS fighting positions, among other targets, according to a statement by Centcom.
