Egypt's Prime Minister Sherif Ismail made an announcement Thursday stating that the 66 passengers on board EgyptAir flight MS804 that crashed in May are now officially considered dead.
The announcement was made after the civil aviation minister handed a report over to the cabinet showing evidence from the investigation that all those on board the flight died when the plane crashed in the Mediterranean Sea on 19 May.
On Monday, EgyptAir agreed with insurance companies to compensate each family of the victims with $25,000.
The flight's two black boxes have been retrieved from the sea, though the data has not yet been recovered.
