Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz has revealed that Tunisian international defender Ali Maaloul is close to wearing the Red Devils' jersey and that an official announcement of the deal will come soon.

"Maaloul is close to signing Ahly's contract as we are in the final stage of negotiations," Abdel-Hafiz was quoted as saying on the club's official website Sunday.

"When the player puts pen to official papers, we will announce it officially," Ahly's football director said.

The 26-year-old defender Maaloul has had a regular place in CS Sfaxien's squad since coming from the youth sector of the team, scoring 16 goals and assisting in another four. He made his international debut with Tunisia's national team against Morocco on 6 July 2013.

Ahly have reached an agreement with CS Sfaxien to meet the player's pay-out clause, which is reported to be a 500,000 Euros, to get the services of Maaloul this summer.
