Darb 1718 are having their second American Film Night as part of their weekly film screenings this month. Middle Of Nowhere will be showing on Sunday 24 July.

The independent feature was written and directed by Ava DuVernay and premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, where it received the Directing Award for U.S. Dramatic Film.

The film follows the story of Ruby, a promising medical student whose husband was sentenced to eight years in prison, thus leading her to drop out of medical school and focus on his wellbeing. This painful journey is also one of self-discovery for the young woman.
