Egypt stocks fall 2.3 per cent after night of violence

Egyptian stocks have felt the impact of Sunday night's fatal violence in Cairo, the benchmark EGX30 closing the session 2.25 per cent down at 3,938 points.

The index dropped more than 5 per cent in the opening hour before staging a cautious revival.

Market turnover was LE219.7 million, with OCI and COMI seeing the highest trade.
