21:30 Egypt's Inas Mostafa will face Kazakhstan's Elmira Syzdykova for a bronze medal shortly after the latter defeated Mongolia's Ochirbatyn Nasanburmaa 4-2 in the Repechage Round 2.

18:30 Egypt's wrestler Inas Mostafa lost to Russia's Nataliya Vorobyova, gold medalist at the 2012 London Games and last year's World Championship, 4-2 in the semi-final. She will play for the bronze medal later today.  

18:00  Egypt's Wrestler Inas Mostafa reaches the semi-final of the freestyle wrestling with a 5-1 win over Brazil's Gilda Maria De Oliveira in the 69kg category. She will face Russian wrestler Natalia Vorobieva in the semis later today.

16:45 Egypt's runner Fatma El-Sharnoubi fainted after competing in the women's 800m round 1. She finished last among eight runners in heat 4 with 2:21.24 minutes. Her overall rank was 63 among 64 participants.

16:30 Rider Karim El-Zoghby has finished his round today and committed 9 penalties. He has a total of 18 penalties from the 3 qualifiers and will wait until the end of the qualifiers to see if he'll advance to the finals. He needs to finish among the top 35 riders.

16:00 Egypt's sole hammer thrower Hassan Abdel-Gawad ended the Men's Athletics Hammer throw qualifying round in 11th place, throwing 69.87 metres.

15:40 Egypt's Inas Mostafa Yousef defeated Maria Jose Acosta 8-0 in the women's Wrestling Freestyle round of 16 (69kg). She will now face Gilda Maria Oliveira of Brazil in the coming round. Oliveira advanced after beating Israel's Ilana Kratysh 6-2.

11:10 Rider Karim El-Zoghby will be seeking to make history and reach the equestrian show jumping final after some fine displays in the first two qualifying rounds. He will start Day 3 event at 15:00 Cairo time.

11:00 Egypt's sole hammer thrower Hassan Abdel-Gawad starts his Rio de Janeiro Olympic bid on Wednesday as he will appear on the Men's Athletics Hammer throw qualifying round at 14:40 Cairo time (GMT+2). He competes in Group A. Hassan's personal best number is 78.39 (1 March 2016).
