Egypt coach Hector Cuper believes Sunday's 2-1 comeback win at Congo was fully deserved after the team made a fine start to their World Cup qualifying Group E campaign.

The Pharaohs came from behind to claim a precious win in Brazzaville, thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Abdallah El-Said either side of the interval after they fell behind to a 24th-minute goal.

Egypt top their group with three points, two ahead of Ghana and Uganda who played out a 0-0 draw in Tamale on Friday.

"Our win was fully deserved and those three points are very important," Cuper told the Egyptian Football Association's official website after the match.

"We created many goal-scoring chances, especially in the first half."

The 60-year-old asked his players to put Sunday's win behind them and focus on the upcoming clash against Ghana, which will take place in Egypt next month.

"We have to fully concentrate on Ghana's clash. We need to keep the momentum going because there is still a long way to go."
