Zamalek coach Moemen Soliman asked his squad to focus on the upcoming Egyptian Premier League game against newcomers Tanta on Friday.

"It's important to win against Tanta to keep on the title bid alive. Tanta have delivered good performances and we must respect them," Soliman was quoted as saying on the club's official website Wednesday.

The White Knights are tenth in the league table, ten points behind leaders Ahly (20 points) who played four matches more.

The league resumes this week after a short break due to continental commitment for the Egyptian national team who defeated Ghana 2-0 Sunday in the second round of the2018 World Cup qualifiers.

After nine rounds, the domestic competition will pause again ahead of the Egyptian national team participation in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon between 14 January and 5 February.
