Skillful Zamalek winger Mostafa Fathi's proposed six-month loan move to Torino has fallen through after the Serie A side failed to pay the agreed fees in time, board member Ahmed Mortada Mansour told the club's official website.

After reportedly agreeing a 700,000 euros fee in return of Fathi's services a week ago, board member Mansour said at the time that Torino – currently eighth of the league table – had until Wednesday to pay the agreed sum.

The Italian side, however, seem to have failed to pay the agreed fees in time, as Zamalek announced now they have closed the door on their star winger's potential Serie A move.

Fathi has been in scintillating form for his club ever since joining as a teenager in 2013, with his outstanding dribbling skills and ability to cut inside his marker onto his stronger left foot causing opponents problems.

It is not the first time that Fathi has been linked with an Italian club, with another proposed loan-move to Bologna also eventually falling through in June last year, with Zamalek demanding no less than 4million euros to let him go.
