Zamalek have made an agreement with their former coach Mohamed Salah to lead the team until a new manager arrives.
Salah, who is currently managing Haras El-Hodoud in the second division, has been allowed y the club to step down and take charge of Zamalek, his boyhood club, on on an interim basis.
The Cairo-based club is close to naming Portuguese Augusto Inacio as their new coach following the resignation of Mohamed Helmi, under whom the club faltered in the Egyptian Premier League.
Zamalek lie third in the Egyptian Premier League table with 40 points, a massive 15 behind leaders Ahly who have played one match more.
