Egypt's Raneem El Welily reached the second round of the World Championship in the Red Sea resort of El Gouna following an easy victory over England's Jennifer Duncalf on Saturday.

El Welily, who has never won the World Championship, strolled to a 3-0 win (13/11, 11/7, 11,5) to advance to the next round.

Defending champion Nour El Sherbini, the only Egyptian female to win the tournament, qualified on Friday at the expense of Canada's Samantha Cornett.

Fellow Egyptians Nour El Tayeb and Nouran Gohar also progressed after eliminating two compatriots but Heba El Torky, Mariam Metwally, Hana Ramadan and Zeina Mickawy all suffered first-round exits.

In the men's El Gouna International tournament, brothers Mohamed and Marwan Elshorbagy and fellow Egyptian Mazen Hesham also reached the second round on Friday.
