Egypt will be represented in the fourth edition of the Tripoli Film Festival with the feature-length film Before the Summer Crowds directed by Mohamed Khan; the only Egyptian feature-length film to screen during the event, which will run between 27 April and 4 May.

Co-written by Ghada Shahbandar and Nura El-Sheikh, Before the Summer Crowds premiered at the 12th Dubai International Film Festival in 2016.

The film stars Maged El-Kedwany, Hana Sheha, Ahmed Dawood, Lana Mushtaq, and Hany El-Metennawy. 

The festival will also honour Cairo-based Egyptian-Lebanese actress Hana Shiha.

The festival will also screen three Egyptian shorts: documentary My Window directed by Bahaa El-Gamal, How Solitude Was by Marianne Abdel-Malek, and Plastic by Mahmoud S. Hamed.

Other films be screened at the festival include entries from all across the world in the features, documentaries, shorts, and animation sections.

The Tripoli Film Festival is an annual cinematic event founded in April 2014 with the aim of enriching the local cultural environment in Tripoli, promoting the rich cultural heritage of Tripoli and its local artists, and marketing Tripoli and as a highly promising tourist destination.
