Temperatures are expected to rise in Egypt nationwide on Tuesday, with Cairo breaking the 30-degree Celsius mark, state news agency MENA reported.

Cairo is expected to see highs of 32 degrees Celsius by day and lows of 17 by night, while the northern coastal city of Alexandria will witness moderate spring weather with highs of 23 and lows of 15.

Early morning commuters will experience some fog across the country.

The tourist resort city of Hurghada on the Red Sea will see highs of 32 and lows of 19, while Sharm El-Sheikh in south Sinai will see highs of 31 and lows of 21.

The Mediterranean Sea will experience moderate waves, reaching highs of one to 1.5 metres, while Red Sea waves will reach 1.5 to two metres high.

Meanwhile, millions of egyptians enjoyed the festivities of Sham El-Nessim on Monday in warm weather with temperatures in the upper 20s and lower 30s in most of the country.
