Ramy Ashour has made a fine return from his two-month injury with a 3-0 victory over Switzerland’s Nicolas Muelle, to advance into the quarterfinals of the Pacific Market International Bellevue Squash Classic PSA tournament.

“I just wanted to play well; he's very quick with his hands, so I was trying to contain him,” the three-time world champion Ashour said after the game on Thursday.

The 29-year-old Egyptian star  proved his recovery from a hamstring strain he sustained in March, defeating Mueller 11-8, 11-7, 11-8 in 32 minutes.

“I had that in the back of my head and that's why I was prepared. I had some complications earlier, but I was prepared. Other than that, I'm excited to be back in Bellevue,” the World No. 7 added.

Late on Thursday, Ashour will face-off against fellow Egyptian Marwan El-Shorbagy, World No. 5, in the quarter-final after the latter beat Nafiizwan Adnan of Malaysia 1-3.

Another two Egyptians have reached the finals as Tarek Momen (10) will play Frenchman Gregory Gaultier before Ali Farag (8) take on Australian Ryan Cuskelly.

World No. 3 Omar Mosaad was the fifth Egyptian to reach the finals, but was ousted early, losing to Gaultier 3-0 in the first round on Tuesday.
