Secretary General of Muslim Brotherhood’s political party likens the police use of 'excessive violence' against protesters in Tahrir 'to the old regime’s security practices'

A statement condemning the forceful dispersal of protests by security forces was released on the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party website.

The statement, made by the party’s Secretary General Mohamed El-Katatney, denounces the police’s use of “excessive force in dispersing tens of protesters who were gathered for a sit-in inTahrir Square,” adding that the incidents resemble the old regime’s security practices.
