Four Egyptian women artists will display their work together at the My Favorite Things 2 exhibition at Mashrabia Gallery, opening 4 June.

The featured artists are Azza Mostafa, Fadwa Ramadan, Marwa El-Shazly and Soad Abdelrasoul. Each artist's collection displays a unique and personal technique.

The exhibition is a multimedia presentation of drawing, painting and graphic design.

The exhibition follows in the steps of its 2016 forerunner ‘My Favorite Things’ which featured the work of three artists. This year the featured artists are different, yet equally diverse.

According to the exhibition’s press release, “Ramadan, [draws] from the centuries-old Amazigh poetry, and uses words and letters filled with symbolic meaning to create simple monochrome visual forms. Abdelrasoul explores the intertwined relationship between human and nature by evoking the strength of the universe that lies within us. In Mostafa’s very colourful paintings, ordinary people in their everyday life become characters of a theatre play, while in Marwa’s candy-coloured landscapes the deceptive appearance of a world that is parallel to the one we live in is revealed.”

Opens Sunday 4 June at 8.30pm
The exhibition runs through June 22
Mashrabia Gallery, 8 Champollion St., Downtown, Cairo
