Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain have issued a joint statement on Friday designating 12 entities and 59 individuals as involved in terrorist activities and linked to the Arab gulf state of Qatar, MENA reported. 

In the joint statement, 12 charity entities were listed as linked to "terrorism", with five based in Doha, six in Bahrain and one in Libya.

The statement also named 59 individuals from different Arab nationalities as allegedly linked with terrorism, including 18 Qatari nationals described as terrorism financiers from businessmen, politicians and royal family members.

The list included Youssef El-Qaradawi, the 90-year-old Egyptian-Qatari scholar and spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood organization, which has been designated a terrorist organization by Egypt,UAE and Saudi Arabia.

El-Qaradawi has been residing in Doha since 1961.

On Monday, Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE severed diplomatic and transport ties with Qatar accusing it of supporting Islamist militants and Iran, charges Qatar says are baseless.

The four Arab states affirmed "working together with partners" around the world towards finding solutions to countering terrorist organizations and extremist groups, expressing unity  in their ongoing commitment to combat terrorism, drying up its funding, countering extremist ideology and the ways of its promotion, according to the statement.

In 2015, an Egyptian court sentenced El- Qaradawi to death in absentia for incitement to commit murder and vandalism. 

The list also included Wagdi Ghoneim, a 66-year-old Egyptian preacher believed to be currently residing in Turkey, who also received a death sentence in absentia earlier this year for inciting to murder of security forces and Christians in Egypt.

The rest of list includes 24 Egyptian nationals, five Libyans, three Kuwaitis, two Bahrainis, two Jordanians, a Saudi, a Yemeni and an Emirati.
