Eid El-Fitr 2017 films coming to Egyptian theatres

Some of Egypt’s biggest stars are back to compete for audiences' attention over the national holiday

During the highly competitive season for commercial cinema, Egyptian cinemas will be screening several star-studded films, fronted by actors Ahmed El-Sakka, Tamer Hosny, Mohamed Ramadan, Mohamed Heneidy and Menna Shalaby.

Horoub Edterary (Forced Escape)

Director: Ahmed Khaled Mousa
Starring: Ahmed El-Sakka, Ghada Adel, Amir Karara, Fathy Abdelwahab, Ezzat Abo Auf
Writer: Mohamed Sayed Beshir

The film centres on the death of a businessman’s son. When two people who were close to the victim are accused and have to flee, they begin a search for the real murderer to clear their names.

Tesbah Ala Kheir (Good Night)

Director: Mohamed Sami 
Starring: Tamer Hosny, Ahmed Zaher, Nour, Dorra, Bayoumi Fouad
Writers: Ahmed Amin and Mohamed Sami

The film is about a rich young man who lives a sad life with his two friends; all three are affected by physical abnormalities. The three go through difficult and embarrassing situations because of this, in a dark comedy about emotional abuse.

Gawab Eateqal (Arrest Letter) 

Director: Mohamed Sami 
Starring: Mohamed Ramadan, Mohamed Adel, Sayed Ragab, Dina El-Sherbiny, Eyad Nasar

Mohamed Ramadan is Khaled El-Degwy, a member of a terrorist group that conducts homicide operations in the name of Jihad. His younger brother, who insists on joining the group, is killed in a fight with one the group’s members. Khaled turns on the group to avenge his brother’s death, at the same time that he is summoned for arrest.

The grandson of Antar Al-Abbasy is in vicious competition with Asad El-Regal (lion of men) to win the heart and hand of the most beautiful girl in the tribe in this comic satire.

This action film explores how eye DNA could be used to spy on people, in a shadowy organisation called The Originals.
