The young female artists of the Banati foundation will hold a performance titled Hekayet Fostan (A Dress Story) at Dawar for Arts and Development.

The performance is organized by the Banati Foundation in association with Drosos Foundation.

The Banati Foundation is a non-governmental organization which was founded in 2012, and works with children, especially girls who live on the streets or in poverty, to improve their psychological, health and social conditions.

The organization also works with children of female prisoners between the ages of 2 and 18 years old.

The Hekayat Fostan performance will be held as part of the BuSSy (Look) project, a performing arts project which aims to shed light on gender-related issues among different communities in Egypt, through various storytelling workshops and performances.

Among the topics addressed are harassment, rape, gender-based discrimination, honor killing, forced marriage, female genital mutilation, motherhood, domestic violence, child abuse, mass sexual assault and other prevalent social problems.

Programme:
Sunday 6 August at 7pm
Dawar for Arts and Development, 16 Adly St, Downtown Cairo
