Egyptian armed forces band takes part in Russian martial music festival

The Egyptian armed forces’ band is participating for the first time in Russia’s annual Spasskaya Tower Military Music Festival, which started in Moscow’s Red Square on 26 August and runs through 3 September.

The Egyptian band has gained a widespread reputation for participating and wining first place in international martial music festivals in Italy, Scotland, Germany and Libya.

Egypt is among 21 bands participating in the festival from all over the world.

Egypt's head of martial music department, General Helmy Ahmed Khattab, stressed the importance of the festival, which he said represents an opportunity to convey happiness and joy to the public.

He also thanked the festival management for organising the event and making all efforts to assist the Egyptian band, in light of the deep historical relations that bind Egypt and Russia.
