South Sudan President Salva Kiir relayed to Egyptian counterpart Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi a message stressing the importance of reinforcing bilateral relations, according to the Egyptian presidency.

Kiir’s message was delivered by South Sudanese Minister of Presidential Affairs Mayik Ayii Deng during a visit to Cairo on Wednesday.

Deng discussed with El-Sisi the latest developments in South Sudan and the efforts to restore peace and stability in the country, praising Egypt’s efforts to help achieve this goal.

South Sudan has been embroiled in a civil conflict since 2013.
