An Alexandria prosecution has ordered the release of 28 Ahly football fans and the detention of two others pending investigation into charges of possessing fake tickets for the second leg semi-final game against Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel in the African Champions League on Sunday, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
The prosecution is also investigating three other fans, according to rights lawyer Mohamed Hafez.
Egypt has had a ban on spectators attending domestic football games at stadiums since February 2012, when 74 Ahly fans were killed during a regular league game in the Port Said Stadium massacre.
For continental games and competitions, a minimal amount of spectators are allowed to attend depending on security concerns.
After losing 2-1 in Sousse early in October, Ahly crushed the Tunisian team at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium, prevailing 6-2 to comfortably in aggregate to secure a final berth for the first time since winning the title in 2013.
