Ahly's defensive midfielder Hossam Ashour will not be available for the first-leg of the Champions League final against Wydad de Casablanca due to injury, the team doctor said on Tuesday.
Ahly host the Moroccan side in the first-leg at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab stadium on Saturday before heading to Casablanca for the second leg one week later.
"Ashour will miss the first-leg. We will do our best to prepare him for the second-leg," Ahly doctor Khaled Mahmoud told reporters on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old sustained a groin injury in Ahly's 4-1 win over Ragaa in an Egyptian league game last week.
Defender Rami Rabie replaced Ashour in the heart of midfield in Ahly's 6-2 win over Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel that saw the record eight-time winners reach their first Champions League final since 2013.
