Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry says his side are well-prepared for the African Champions League final first-leg against Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca at Alexandria’s Borg El-Arab Stadium on Saturday.
Looking for a record ninth title, Ahly will be eyeing a victory at home against the Moroccans before flying the following week for the return leg in Casablanca.
“It will be a very tough game between two teams who managed to make it to the Champions League final,” El-Badry told the pre-match press conference.
“We prepared well for the game. All the players are well-prepared for the final.”
Ahly qualified for the final for the first time in four years following a 7-4 aggregate win over Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel.
One-time African champions Wydad, meanwhile, overcame Algeria’s USM Algiers 3-1 on aggregate to set up the Ahly meeting.
The return leg takes place at Mohamed V Stadium on November 4.
