Egypt is bracing for moderate weather that will turn slightly cold Sunday evening, according to predictions of the country’s meteorological authority.

Rain is expected in the country’s northern governorates along the Mediterranean. Strong winds in the Red Sea and Mediterranean could disrupt maritime navigation.

Waves in the Mediterranean and Red Sea are expected to reach highs of 2-2.5 metres.

Cairo will see temperature highs of 25 degrees Celsius and lows of 17 degrees, while the coastal governorate of Alexandria will see highs of 23 degrees and lows of 14 degrees.

The tourist resorts of Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada will see daytime highs of 27 and 21 degrees respectively, and night lows of 28 and 19 degrees.

The Upper Egypt governorates of Assiut and Sohag are also set for a cold turn, with seasonably lower temperatures at a high of 25 and low of 13 degrees.
