Egypt's Squash superstar Nour El-Sherbini, Nouran Gohar and Nour El Tayeb qualified for the quarterfinals of the women's World Championship in Manchester on Tuesday.

El Sherbini continued her bid to win a third consecutive world title after easing past Japan's Satomi Watanabe 3-0 (11-6, 11-5, 11-5) to set up a quarter-final duel with fellow Egyptian Nouran Gohar.

Gohar booked a last-eight berth with a 3-1 win over Alison Waters of England.

The Egyptian won the first game 12-10 before Waters had the upper hand in the second, winning 11-8. However, Gohar comfortably eased into an 11-2 win in the third game before settling the tie in her favour with an 11-8 victory in the final game.

Nour El Tayeb beat compatriot Salma Hany in a decider after a hard-fought match.

El Tayeb prevailed 3-2 in 52 minutes (6-11, 11-8, 7-11, 11-7, 11-5) to join El Sherbini and Gohar in the last eight.

"That felt a bit scrappy for a lot of, it not the whole match! She was in control all the way, I couldn't find my shots and just had to fight and fight," El Tayeb told the tournament's official website.

"For now I'm just happy to get through and I'll try to work out my game for the quarters."

Raneem El Welily can become the fourth Egyptian to qualify for the quarters if she beats Victoria Lust of England on Wednesday.
