Egypt's senior national football team will be competing for the CAF 2017 awards, while Argentinean coach Hector Cuper and Premier League title holders Ahly have joined the awards shortlist released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Monday.
The Pharaohs team, who booked their place in the 2018 World Cup, are competing with Cameroon and Nigeria for the CAF 2017 African national team of the year.
The seven time winner of the African Cup of Nations title, Egypt finished runners up in the 2017 African Cup of Nations behind champions Cameroon.
Egyptian national team coach Cuper is also competing with Morocco's Wydad Athletic Club coach Hussein Amotta and Nigerian national team coach Gernot Rohr.
Cuper helped Egypt reach the 2018 World Cup finals for the first time since 1990, as well as reach the 2017 African Cup of Nations final.
Egyptian Premier League title holders Ahly also joined the CAF 2017 top three finalists for Club of the Year Award alongside the 2017 CAF Champions League winner Morocco's Wydad Athletic Club and CAF Confederation Cup champions TP Mazembe of DR Congo.
The eight-time CAF Champions League title winner, Ahly reached the final of the last edition before losing to Wydad Athletic 2-1 on aggregate.
The CAF 2017 African Player of the Year Awards Gala will be held in Accra on 4 January 2018.
