6 April aims to inform voters about their options in Egypt's first post-Mubarak parliamentary elections

The 6 April Youth Movement has recently launched a new campaign aiming to help voters to choose the right candidates. The movement, whose members are not running for the elections  themselves, will be guiding voters as to who is who and providing them with the information needed to find out about each electoral alliance.

The movement's decision to launch the campaign came in response to their realisation that many Egyptians are unable to choose, complaining of lack of information.

This is the second campaign launched by 6 April since the beginning of Egypt’s first post-Mubarak parliamentary elections, in addition to continuous monitoring efforts. The movement had previously launched a campaign against all former National Democratic Party members, aiming to expose candidates who had been members of the former ruling party and urging people not to give them their votes.

6 April spokesperson Injy Hamdy stated that the Egyptian people managed to marginalize former NDP members as hardly any of them made it to parliament.
