The United Nations on Friday criticised Hungary's proposed anti-immigration law that would empower the interior minister to ban non-governmental organisations (NGOs) supporting migration and urged the government to ensure freedom of association.
"The proposed legislation represents an unjustified restriction on the right to freedom of association and is a worrying continuation of the government's assault on human rights and civic space," UN human rights spokesman Rupert Colville told a news briefing in Geneva.
