Zamalek's coach Ihab Galal has dismissed recent criticisms of his team's fitness, insisting that he is totally satisfied with the Whites’ performance in recent matches.

"The team's fitness is stable and the evidence is that we win and deliver good performances," Galal was quoted as saying by Zamalek's official website on Saturday.

Zamalek claimed their fifth straight Egyptian League win on Thursday after coming back from one goal down to beat rock bottom Nasr 2-1 at Cairo Stadium.

Zamalek climbed to second place on the league table with 48 points, two ahead of Ismaily, who have two games in hand. Champions Ahly lead the table with 66 points.

"I am satisfied with the performance against Nasr. We dominated the match and were the most effective against the goal," the coach explained.

"It is normal for the performance to change sometimes, but it should not diminish.

"The players deploy our strategy in a good way. There is good improvement in that regard," he added.

After Galal’s appointment early in January, Zamalek dealt a shaky start, but they managed to restore the balance in recent matches.

"The team marches at a steady pace and the most important thing for me is winning matches. All I hope for is that Zamalek's performance will be completely secured in the coming period," he concluded.
