Egypt's National Elections Authority (NEA) is set to announce the final and official presidential election results in a press conference today at 3pm Cairo time.
Sources in the campaign office of incumbent President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said on Thursday that he had won by a large margin.
According to El-Sisi campaign sources, El-Sisi was heading for a landslide victory, securing over 90 percent of the vote, confidently beating his only opponent Moussa Mostafa Moussa.
The voter turnout was more than 40 percent of the 59 million eligible voters, according to the sources.
The official results due to be announced will include votes cast in Egypt between 26 and 28 March and those cast by Egyptians abroad the previous week.
The winner of this year's presidential elections will be sworn in at the House of Representatives in June, according to the parliament spokesperson.
