The winners of the second edition of the Adam Henein Prize for sculpture were announced at an exhibit at the Hanager Arts Centre on Saturday.

The prize aims to promote and support contemporary artists under the age of 35 from Egypt and across the Arab world.

The event showcases both the competition and a group exhibition of selected projects.

From among the 30 participating artists this year, Alaa Yehia won first prize, worth EGP 50,000.

Second prize, worth EGP 10,000, went to Therese Antoine, while the third prize, worth EGP 5,000, was awarded to Samar Magdy El-Bassal.

The jury award was given to Abdel-Rahman Alaa El-Agouz, which includes a scholarship trip to Italy to learn the art and technique of Italian sculptors.

The annual award has expanded from last year. Previously, there was only first prize worth EGP 50,000 and second prize of an apprenticeship under Adam Henein at the renowned artist's studio.
