Zamalek president Mortada Mansour has revealed that he intends to hire a "top-class" foreign coach to lead the team in the upcoming season.
The club has been in a state of unrest since Sunday's defeat against Maqassa in the league, with coach Ihab Galal announcing his resignation, before his agent back-tracked on that decision.
"I decided to accept the resignation of Ihab Galal, which he announced to the media, and we will hire a foreign coach," Mansour told a presser on Monday.
"We will recruit a top-class manager and won't be hiring any more Egyptian coaches in the upcoming period," he added.
Galal was named Zamalek coach in January, succeeding the Montenegrin tactician Nebojsa Jovovic. During his four-month reign, he won seven out of 14 league games.
Following the Maqassa defeat, the Whites are now trailing Ismaily by six points in their race to finish second in the league and earn a spot in next year's African Champions League.
The former Enppi and Maqassa coach was also eliminated from the Confederation Cup round of 32 after being stunned by Ethiopian side Wolaitta Dicha.
